My kitchen

This is Eric. He is from LA and also lives on my floor.

So these are pictures of our kitchen. There is one on every floor and each floor is divided into two halves with nine single rooms on each half. I am very blessed, it seems, to have a nice kitchen with lots of communal utensils and dishes and such. Most people also seem to be interested in keeping it clean and fairly neat. A lot of good food gets made in here. I am impressed at the culinary skills which seem to abound among . . . yes, my fellow college students. I am trying to hold things down for the good old US of A, though. I make pasta often, with tomato sauce and the other day I made some bratwurst with onion and red peppers; sehr gut! I've also made french fries and baked sandwich melts. I went out for dinner tonight and had ham and pasta auflauf. It was very good and I am rather excited to try some of the many other varieties.
On Sunday it'll be three weeks since I arrived. Wow! The time seems to be going by really fast.
For the very perceptive - yes, that is a photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger on the refrigerator. Well Toto, I guess we're not in Kansas anymore . . .
God Bless,
Jared

Hey hey! Its good to see your still alive! watch out for those landmines. Have you listened to the radio at all? It would be cool to know what kind of music is popular over there. Let me know if you go on any Mt. side bikes too!

Nate,
Yes, I am also glad I am still alive. The radio is a little bit hilarious over here. We have one in the kitchen that the guys have on fairly often. Its overwhelmingly American (and British) music. Its sort of a mix between oldies and classic songs and contemporary top 40 stuff. They seem to like it. What do you mean by "if you go on any Mt. side bikes?" Have I gone on any bikerides on the mountainside? or have I mounted any side-bikes or what?

Mr. Odell,
Yes, no posts from the fam... very peculiar indeed... its as if they don't really care. Actually we've been emailing a lot and its been great.
Ciao! (they say that here too)

Since Nate dog asked about music I want to know what kind of movies these people watch. Is Arnald a celibrity or a big joke? Has the lion king afected as many peoples child hood as the it has in the States? Do they have more indipendent film makers? These are the things that keep me awake at night. Later bro

Thanks for the birthday happiness wishes guys.
Brant, I'll have to inquire about the Lion King phenomenon; I mean, I am still trying to get over that one so...
I think they watch overwhelmingly American Films here with perhaps only a bit more international emphasis. Movies on TV and at the Cineplex downtown seem to all have German overdubbing. Supposedly German voice acting is some of the best around. About Arnold, I'm not entirely sure, but I think he might be a combination of a joke and a hero.
Sarah, so far I have very much enjoyed my first day as a 21 year old. Thanks.
